In our morning sessions, students will study maths and English functional skills. Many of our students prefer to work in books rather than on computers so we tailor each session to suit the needs of the individual. We practice a child-centred approach, working with students and families to create the best possible outcomes.
During lunchtime, students have the option to eat in house at the BOXCO café, which serves a variety of healthy meal options including vegan and halal options. Alternatively, students can take a short walk into Ashton town centre with their mentor and choose from a selection of food options.
Our afternoons are filled with physical activity. Students take part in 1:1 or small group sessions with their coach/mentor focusing on mixed martial arts. We cover a range of disciplines such as striking, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, Tae Kwon Do, Thai Boxing and much more!
Students also have the choice to attend a range of educational visits. So far this year we have visited, the Museum of Science and Industry, the Imperial War Museum, the National Football Museum and Liverpool's World Museum.
We have a range of coaches and mentors that are selected to meet the needs of the student. We match our students with their mentor based on interests, personalities and experience.
The support we offer is on a 1:1 basis or small group sessions. This helps us to closely work with individual students, helping them to progress not only with their maths and English, but also socially and emotionally.
